RdSAP 10 Delayed..again!
The long awaited update to the EPC methodology, namely RdSAP 10 has been delayed again, with an estimated launch of Jan-March 2025, according to Elmhurst Energy.
The update to the EPC methodology is due to bring in a number of changes to make EPCs more accurate. Once launched, assessors will need to measure exact window sizes, rather than selecting “typical, more than typical” etc. There will also be more information gathered on rooms in roofs, as well as many other changes such as a selection for smart meters, and battery storage. When the changes do eventually come in, EPCs will take longer to produce, but should be more accurate.
Recommendations are also due to be improved, to better reflect modern technologies.
This perhaps creates a dilemma for landlords who have one eye on the requirement for a C rating by 2030, as it is unclear how the new methodology will affect ratings.
