Domestic Energy Assessors based in Nottingham

Providing EPCs for landlords, agents and homeowners in Nottingham, West Bridgford and surrounding areas

Energy efficiency is becoming more and more important as fuel bills are on the rise and global warming is increasing. The government have Minimum Energy Efficiency standards meaning that all rented residential properties currently require an E rating, but this may increase in future and many landlords are improving their properties to increase their attractiveness to tenants and future-proof for compliance.

The first step to knowing how efficient your building is, is having an up-to-date and accurate EPC. From there we can recommend the relevant steps required to improve the energy efficiency of your residential property.

EPC Ratings

Energy Services

Energy Performance Certificates

Energy Performance Certificates are required whenever a property is built, sold or rented, and last for 10 years. We aim to differentiate ourselves with the accuracy and thoroughness of our EPC’s, fast turnaround times, and post-EPC support in achieving your energy efficiency goals.

Energy Consultancy & MEES

Landlords and home owners may want help with increasing the EPC rating of their property.

The first step is a visit where the property is assessed using the EPC software, this can then be submitted either as an EPC if this is required immediately, or is satisfactory, or alternatively as an Energy Report which will have recommendations for improvement.

Following disussions about which measures you feel are more or less appropriate, and with some input from ourselves in terms of potential improvements to the rating, we can then produce one or more Energy Reports showing how your property would rate with the altered factors.

We can then revisit to produce a new EPC once any improvement measures have taken place.

Development services

If you are refurbishing a property and would like to know which measures to implement to achieve the best possible EPC rating, we can help. Initially an EPC or Energy report would be carried out on the property, and we can model different scenarios for you from there.

For example “what if we put this boiler in?”, “should we spend our money on cavity wall insulation or loft insulation?”, we can help answer these questions for you.

Homeowner advice

For homeowners looking to understand how thermally efficient, or otherwise, their home is. This will take the form of a home-based session at your property, using the EPC as a framework and then a thorough explanation of all the findings and recommendations from the EPC, with a few additional hints and tips added in.

Floorplans

Floorplans are an essential part of marketing a property, whether for sale or rental. We can provide this service as a stand-alone product, or you can benefit from multi-service discounts when booking another service at the same time.

What is an EPC?

EPC’s were introduced in 2007 and measure the energy efficiency of a building, on a scale of A-G, A being the best, and G the worst.

EPC’s are required when a property is built, rented, or sold.

Higher rated properties should have lower fuel bills, and produce less CO2.

Minimum Energy Efficiency Standards (MEES) were introduced in 2008 requiring all privately owned, rented properties to have a rating of E before being rented.

An EPC will tell you your properties overall rating, with specific sub-ratings for individual factors, as well as suggestions for improving the rating and efficiency of your building
